Drift

Home / Games / Drift

Your car keeps its own speed around a floodlit arena. Steer left and right, then hold Drift through the corners to break traction and slide — the wider and faster the slide, the more points bank, and a clean chain builds a combo. Clip a wall and you spin out, losing a life and your combo. Use the arrow keys (or A/D to steer, Space or Down to drift) or the on-screen pad. Your best score is saved on this device.

How to play Drift

Quick start

  1. Press Start. The car pulls away on its own — you never touch a throttle.
  2. Steer with the left and right arrows to follow the road as it bends.
  3. Hold Drift through a corner to break traction and slide. Sliding is what scores.
  4. Stray too far from the centre line and you spin out, losing one of three lives.

How it works

hold Drift in the bend wider slide = more points run too wide → spin-out 3 lives · no throttle

Controls

Mouse or trackpad
There are no mouse controls. Use the keyboard, or the on-screen pad below the road.
Touch
Tap and hold the arrows on the on-screen pad to steer, and hold the Drift button to slide.
Keyboard

Tips

Frequently asked questions

Do I control the throttle?

No. The car accelerates on its own toward a limit that slowly rises from 5 to 7.2 over the course of a run. You only steer and drift.

How do I actually score?

By sliding. Points accrue while you are drifting, and the rate depends on how sharp the bend is, how hard you are steering, and how fast you are going.

What makes me spin out?

Drifting too far from the centre of the road. Cross that line and you lose one of three lives.

What happens right after a spin-out?

The car is placed back on the centre of the road, and for the next 34 frames your steering is ignored while it recovers. You cannot spin out again during that window.

Does holding Drift make me faster?

No, slower. Drifting caps you at roughly three quarters of your top speed, so a drift is a trade: less speed now for points now.

How many lives do I get?

Three. The run ends when the third is gone, and your best score is saved.

Can I play this with a keyboard only?

Yes. Left and right arrows or A and D steer, and Space, the down arrow, or S holds the drift.

Where is my best score stored?

In your own browser, under a local storage key beginning with cvr_. It never leaves your device.
