Meteor Breaker

Home / Games / Meteor Breaker

Meteors rain down from the top of the screen and it's your job to shoot them out of the sky. Fly your starfighter along the bottom, line up each rock, and fire — big meteors break into two smaller, faster ones, so finish the job. Let a meteor reach the bottom or slam into your ship and you lose one of three lives; the longer you last, the faster they fall. Move with the left and right arrow keys or by dragging, and hold Space or the button to fire. Your best score is saved on this device.

Tips

Frequently asked questions

What are the meteors worth?

A big meteor is 20 points and a small one is 40. Because a big meteor breaks into two smalls, clearing one completely is worth 100.

Why is a small meteor worth more than a big one?

It is a harder target. The fragments fall faster than the rock they came from and drift sideways, so they are priced accordingly.

Do big meteors always split?

Yes. Shooting a big meteor always leaves two small ones behind. Only the small ones disappear when shot.

How many lives do I have?

Three. You lose one when a meteor reaches the bottom of the screen and one when a meteor hits your ship.

Should I tap fire or hold it?

Hold it. The guns have a nine-frame cooldown, so holding the button fires exactly as fast as the weapon allows.

Does the game get harder?

In two ways at once. Meteors fall faster the longer you survive, and they spawn more often as your score rises.

Can I play it on a phone?

Yes. Drag your finger across the play area to move the ship, and keep it held to keep firing.

Is my score sent anywhere?

No. It is written to your browser's local storage and stays on that device.
